PlayStation 3 missed out Splinter Cell: Conviction earlier this year, but Ubisoft might just have something on the way to please fans of Sam Fisher’s older, more stealthy adventures this fall.
According to an Amazon France product listing, something called the Splinter Cell Trilogy is apparently due out in November, retailing for EUR 39.95, or roughly $54 USD.
The page makes no further information on the title available, but it certainly doesn’t seem crazy to assume that if real, this might be akin to Sony’s PlayStation Classics HD line, which is bringing old favorites back to life with a little visual sprucing up and Trophie support. Could Ubisoft be prepping a single Blu-ray with HD ports of Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory? And if so, why all of a sudden? Hmm.
Ubisoft hasn’t commented on the listing at this time.
[Update]: Interesting. Amazon France has now listed a EUR 39.95 Prince of Persia Trilogy as well. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones on one Blu-ray? Sold.
