Oh, ratings boards. Well played. Just a few days after being leaked by Australia’s classification database, Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves for PlayStation 3 has been announced.
The game is, as we thought, a PS Move-using spin-off of Media Molecule’s platformer, developed by Supermassive Games, and headed to PS3 in December. Another thing: it’s multiplayer-only. Sony says Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves is a time-filler until LBP2 in January, comprised of 10 dinosaur-laden levels.
“Throughout your mission you must take on challenges engineered by Terrance Dactyl – and you’re going to some need help, so put on your bear skins and grab up to four friends to navigate the tough terrain of the tropical jungle dodging erupting volcanoes and other environmental hazards standing in your way.”
“The player with the PlayStation Move controller leads the charge, flicking switches and triggering platforms to help the other players, using DualShock Controllers, through each level. Leap between Dino heads, use the Move controller to blast aside crates of bubbles, ride dinosaurs through prehistoric cities, and take to the heights of tree canopies—then team up to defeat Big Rex, all while collecting Trophies along the way.“
Te game will not require the first LBP, but it does require players to have at least one Move controller. Interestingly, Sony plans to release the game as a standalone product, and include it on the LittleBigPlanet 2 disc as a bonus.
The separate version will hit PSN on December 14th for $5.99, and beginning December 7th, PlayStation Plus users and “thousands of LittleBigPlanet supporters” can grab it for free; more details on that to follow.
