Konami has been the majority shareholder of Hudson Soft since 2005, allowing the company to self-publish titles like Bomberman and most recently Lost in Shadow, but Hudson is about to become fully absorbed and potentially renamed.
Konami’s confirmed this morning that effective April 1st, Hudson will become a wholly-owned subsidiary, in an effort to leverage their mobile and social gaming success for the publisher’s future efforts.
As well, Hudson CEO Michihiro Ishizuka will resign on March 31st, replaced by Konami Digital Entertainment’s Kazuhiko Uehara, with the possibility of a company name change and/or merging of business operations.
