Chances are few Xbox 360 owners out there — and even fewer Halo fans — won’t be picking up Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary this fall, but in case you’re still on the fence, Microsoft/343i just unveiled some pre-order bonuses to sway you.
Those that secure a copy of the 343i/Saber Interactive/Certain Affinity remake will nab:
- Master Chief Avatar Armor– Heroes Never Die, and to honor the 10th anniversary of John 117, you will finally be able to transform your Xbox LIVE Avatar into the iconic hero by outfitting it with Master Chief’s signature MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor.
- “Grunt Funeral” Skull – An exclusive, game-modifying skull that changes the rules of the game for an explosively humorous experience, “Grunt Funeral” sends Halo’s most lowly and lovable enemy out in a blaze of glory. And plasma. And then more glory. Once the skull has been activated, every Grunt’s methane tank will explode like a plasma grenade when killed. Watch out for the Grunt chain reaction!
Halo: CE Anniversary drops November 15th for $39.99.
In somewhat related news Robot Entertainment, the team made up of former Ensemble Studios staffers and the folks behind Halo Wars, also just announced their debut digital title, Orcs Must Die, is indeed landing on XBLA (and PC). The action-strategy game was originally confirmed for “consoles and PC” earlier this year.
Orcs Must Die is going to be on-hand at Comic-Con this week, and is currently due to launch sometime “later this summer”, published by Microsoft Studios. Prior to the game, a free single-issue digital prequel comic is releasing; those attending Comic-Con can score a copy of the “limited print edition”.
