Grand Theft Auto IV: Ballad of Gay Tony is a new side story to the already popular GTA IV and is available for download on Xbox live marketplace or as a stand alone pack with the Lost and Damned episode on a disc titled GTA IV episodes from Liberty City.

The gameplay is about the same as GTA IV, is this a bad thing? No, not at all. It does however add some really cool side events like drug wars mini game, golfing, sky diving, cage fighting, and dancing! That’s right, you can now boogie down in dance clubs. (just what I’ve always wanted!) The new faster cars, weapons and choppers bring a new feel to the game, while still keeping that GTA IV flavor.

With the main story bringing a decent amount of gameplay, as well as plenty of side missions to keep you busy even after you complete the main story. The replay value of Gay Tony is very high. The online mode is back this year with a few new levels and weapons from the single player, but not much has changed other than new weapons, cars and base jumping. The biggest thing I felt they added to multiplayer is the ability to skydive at anytime and anywhere, this makes for some fun moments, especially when you drop out of a chopper, survive and even shoot down friends while they are skydiving just to piss them off.

If you’re a GTA IV fan at all then you need to pickup Ballad of Gay Tony, its definitely a top notch addition to the GTA IV story. Is it worth the $20? I think so, especially since the game adds new story and lots of side missions to keep you busy for well over 15 hours. Along with all the new side missions, there’s also plenty of GTA IV and Lost and Damned cameos. The story is by far one of my favorites in gaming today and will show you why Rockstar is the kings of story telling, from the twists to how the story’s tie together with the main story all the way to the last level, lets just say it has a nice HOLY SHIT moment to cap the game off. Rockstar once again proves they are one of the masters of sandbox games and all around fun online play. If you know friends that are picking this up, then you definitely need to try it, it will add a lot of extra fun to your online multiplayer experience and will keep you coming back time after time.
