It’s not that amazing looking, reminiscent-of-Fable Pirates of the Caribbean RPG we were waiting for, but Disney and TT Games’ LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game successfully takes the movie franchise, and adds blocky cuteness to great effect.

Announced way back in November, today we’re getting our first look at LEGO Jack Sparrow and crew in the debut trailer, courtesy of MTV Multiplayer, which shows so little it’s almost insulting. But, you know what? This is enough to hook pretty much everyone, as per usual. However, the screens do a much better job of getting the point across.

The game spans Disney’s already released trio of live-action films, as well as section pertaining to On Stranger Tides, hitting theaters in May. Which is coincidentally when LEGO Pirates drops, too.
