This week we give a spoiler-ish-free review of Iron Man 3, the possibilities of the IllumiRoom and what will happen to the Uncanny Valley with next-next gen consoles.

Tony Stark is back and we have mixed feelings about it. Join us as we discuss “Iron Man 3,” Marvel’s first outing since the record-breaking mammoth, “The Avengers.” How does it hold up? NOTICE: We discuss some plot details in this episode, so beware if you haven’t seen the film. We’ll also be releasing our spoilercast later this week. Be on the look out for that.

Next up, we get into IllumiRoom, the projector/Kinect combo that could potentially create a more immersive gaming experience for the next cycle of consoles. We explore how this might be used to enhance or hurt how we play games. Going off that, we discuss Adrian Chmielraz’s Gamasutra blog post about sim-toy dissonance. And we even make some time to hear Jim’s rant about how Marvel needs more Punisher movies.

If you are the host of a podcast about retro kid’s television shows, and Netflix drops a load of Cartoon Network gold in your lap, what do you do? Watch all of it, of course!

Watching is the easy part; however, picking where to start can be hard.

As with Nickelodeon in the early and mid-1990s, Cartoon Network had a lineup of wonderful cartoons by the end of the decade. I would be shocked if many of our listeners didn’t have fond memories of The Powerpuff Girls, Cow & Chicken, Johnny Bravo, etc.

To boot, many of the shows still hold up more than a decade later. Someday, I hope to share Dexter’s Laboratory with my kid (or kids).

I could sit down and marathon all of the shows, but of the bunch, Courage the Cowardly Dog wins the blue ribbon. It’s my favorite. John Dilworth created a gem, and I dig the supernatural vibe.

And don’t worry; knowing Klaus, as well as myself, we will surely watch many – if not all – of the cartoons from Cartoon Network’s golden era.

It’s a hodgepodge episode of Gaming on the Rocks this week as the four of us break down several tidbits. Chief among them: Nintendo will not be holding a press conference at E3 this year. We reflect on the company’s progress thus far and what this could mean for the possible future. Ethan brings up Injustice: Gods Among Us while I share thoughts on Drinkbox Studio’s new game, Guacamelee. Ben, meanwhile, holds down the film and music portion of our show with his review of “Mud” and the new Phoenix album.
