If you’re the sort who has always dreamed of being that guy in The Dark Knight, dressed as Batman, but using a shotgun to take down evil-doers, Warner Bros. and Monolith’s Gotham City Impostors is the game for you.

Announced prior to E3 last month, IGN is claiming this week that WB has confirmed a release date of “winter 2012″. Unless that’s meaning early next year, when this coming winter is still in effect, that’s quite a wait. Most has assumed this downloadable first-person multiplayer shooter would be a tie-in with October’s Batman: Arkham City.

If this release window holds true, it appears Gotham City Impostors may be out around the time next July’s The Dark Knight Rises hits Blu-ray and DVD.

Further, the digital release has also gotten a price point of $14.99/1, 200 MSP of PSN and XBLA, respectively.
